Nigel is a former Solicitor (2004) and Higher Courts Advocate (2005) who converted to the Bar in 2007.

Nigel regularly accepts instructions in civil and commercial disputes involving contract, common law matters and advises and appears for parties in contractual disputes including cases involving misrepresentation, consumer contract laws, and guarantees and indemnities. He has experience in injunctions and costs and has appeared in many courts including the High Court sitting at Birmingham and Southampton. Nigel accepts small claims fast-track and multi-track cases.

Nigel also enjoys a growing Employment practice and regularly advises on Employment law issues including unfair dismissal, discrimination and equality and TUPE disputes. He has experience in Tribunal work and has appeared at Nottingham, Birmingham and Southampton Employment Tribunals.

Nigel has experience in a number of common law areas including professional negligence, boundary disputes, personal injury (including RTA matters). In addition Nigel has a keen interest in representing parties at inquests. Nigel accepts suitable cases on a Conditional Fee Arrangement.

Nigel completed the Direct Access Course in 2011 and is now able to accept Public Access cases.

Nigel also has family law experience and in a number of private law cases. These have included cases for contact, parental responsibility, prohibited steps including interim injunctions. In addition Nigel’s trial experience has proven invaluable for both fact find and final hearings of which he is regularly instructed for.
Nigel is an experienced and approachable advocate who always works hard to achieve the client’s objectives whilst considering the ramifications of costs that can arise in bringing or defending cases.

When Nigel is not working he is a keen classically trained pianist and also enjoys cooking and spending long days out with his wife and three children.
